Theoram X-2 builds on the foundation of Theoram Mark 1, taking the idea of non-lethal defense further with a stronger focus on performance, precision, and control. Developed with Treta Tactical Solutions, the goal was to create a high-pressure compressed-air system capable of short- to mid-range incapacitation without fatal force, while still maintaining a level of deterrence expected in professional use. Designed for law enforcement and private security, the X-2 needed to be reliable, functional, and straightforward in its intent. Our approach focused on making the engineering feel honest and visible through the design. Inspired by cyber militarism and elements of brutalism, the form was kept structured and purposeful—avoiding unnecessary styling while ensuring the product communicates seriousness and readiness. Unlike many non-lethal devices that appear toned down or recreational, the X-2 was designed to feel like a professional tool. At its core is a high-pressure compressed-air mechanism paired with pre-pressurized twin cartridges, delivering gel-based payloads at speeds up to 100 m/s. The dual-barrel setup allows for quick deployment while maintaining consistency across shots. Design decisions were driven by performance—balancing weight, improving handling, and managing recoil to ensure stable use. Internally, the system was arranged to support high-pressure operation while remaining durable and easy to service. Interactions such as cartridge loading and swapping were simplified to reduce time and effort, especially in high-pressure situations. The aim was to make the product intuitive to use without overcomplicating it. The CMF approach follows the same thinking. An all-black palette with matte finishes keeps the product visually controlled and reduces reflections, while material choices like fiber-reinforced polymers ensure durability. Grip areas were designed for comfort and control over extended use.
